Bollywood Music and Film – the Basics

When it comes to Bollywood music, you can’t help but giving credit to those who take part in creating it. It is not just about the person who dances and sings, but also on the writers. Some of the best pieces of this type of music were composed and brought to perfection by entire crews, not by individuals. However, there are a few names which you will often hear when you are talking about Bollywood music.

The great part about it is that you don’t have to keep in touch with the latest song. These works of art go through generations without becoming boring or out of date. What was popular 40 years ago can still be popular today.

Bollywood music is strictly related to the Indian film industry. In most cases, the right song can make or break the entire movie. This is exactly why famous movies are usually accompanied by well known songs and the entire package becomes much more attractive. Another consequence of this strong connection is the fact that many actors are also singers and vice-versa.

A common practice in Bollywood music is to use the voice of a talented musician who is not particularly well known and let the leading actor lip-sync. This is a common practice mainly because most of the films are musicals and many actors don’t have the proper voice for complicated songs.

Indians are known for their musicals, but lately it seems that they are breaking into mainstream media. Some of the movies from Bollywood are gaining popularity all over the world and some of their singers are starting to create commercial content.

It seems that India is quite unique when it comes to music in film. In most countries, these domains are almost completely separated, while in India they can only survive together. Music is an important part of any movie from this region and without it, the popularity of these films would only decrease and the industry will certainly have to suffer. In the end, all that matters is that everyone can enjoy the songs and films products by Bollywood.
